What is a Hackathon?
Within the organisational silos of modern day healthcare the day-to-day problems of a clinician may seem unique and in some cases insurmountable. But for those involved in the BCS Hackathon there is an opportunity to change that way of thinking.
For those not familiar with the concept of a Hackathon; think of it as the ‘Innovation multi-disciplinary meeting’, where specialists gather over 48 hours to develop solutions to common ‘pinch-points’ in service delivery. Unlike a traditional MDT, members of the innovation variant are from diverse backgrounds such as software designers, medical technology entrepreneurs, journalists, venture capitalists and surgeons and physicians.
You will have the rare opportunity to collaborate with technicians with expertise gained from companies such as Apple, Google, Pixar and some of the UK’s leading medical technology Venture Capitalists to develop and implement ideas that we hope could revolutionise healthcare delivery.
You can get a flavour of some previous Hackathon’s from around the world here.
